The CD in the book was damaged and Amazon sent a new book the next day...it was great and hassle free.

This book was ok, but the CD's that coame with it were missing. When it said new, that is what I assumed. You are better off purchasing this book from a campus store. For the extra $50.00, because that is how much the CD's cost without the book.

A very solid introduction to french; grammar and vocabulary usage are usually explained pretty clearly. There's not much more you could ask for. Autodidacts N.B. that the textbook itself contains very little guidance on pronunciation so you should either buy the workbook and cds as well, or find that information elsewhere.
