used, missing map August 23, 2010 Pearl Traub (HAMPTON, NJ, US) this is a great book but having been purchased used the edition did not include a map but was advertised as "with Map." I might not even make the trip. Not that the map is missing but that the book is so well written that I feel as if I've been to italy before!
Perfect travel companion for Italy! August 8, 2010 Kristy R. Barnes 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is wonderful!! It made my trip to Italy run smoothly. I didn't have months to plan the trip - only weeks - so it really guided me on what to do and helped explain obstacles I would run into.
Excellent buy!!
Incomplete in that it entirely ignores most of Southern Italy August 8, 2010 Rachel S. Dooley (New York, New York United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We found this title misleading since the book does not venture below Amalfi. Rick has mentioned on his website that he loves Southern Italy, and that Italy is his favorite country period, then largely ignores it in his "Italy" book. Disappointing.
Rick Steve is AWESOME August 2, 2010 waltersml2 Ever since I used Rick Steve's book for my Germany trip last summer I was completely hooked! The book is so user friendly and he tells you what you truly need to see in the country that you picked for the amount of time that you will be there.
Great guide July 20, 2010 Eville Stu Great area maps for cities. Restaraunt recommendations at multiple price points, from street food to fine dining. Worth the price of book for information regarding skipping the lines at major attractions, we skipped extremely long lines in both Venice and Rome by buying our tickets at the alternate locations suggested. Also apprieciate the historcal background given for cities and sites. This book was superior to Lonely Planet and Let's Go books I've used in the past.
