Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Still the best guide to the Baltic states for those touring these cultural capitals, this guide excels in packing all the essentials travelers need into one trim book. Independent travelers will find it easy to put together their own itinerary, and a good range of information on the heritage, architecture, entertainment, restaurants, and cafes of each city is contained in this handy volume. A section on excursions out from each center expands the possibilities further for visitors, and includes gems such as the medieval Trakai castle on the outskirts of Vilnius, the Latvian seaside resort of Jurmala, and the year-round delight and tranquility of the Kadriog Park near Tallinn.

Features include:
>City information including sightseeing and walking tours plus half-day excursions from each city
>Background material including history and culture
>Essential words and phrases in four languages
>An ideal source for both tourists and business travelers

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Incredibly useful, well-designed book!   November 25, 2007
7 out of 7 found this review helpful

I took a two-week trip through the Baltic states in August 2007 and, thanks to this practical book, we had a wonderful time! The hotel and attraction descriptions were especially useful for planning the trip and were well-organized for easy reference. Once we arrived, the maps made it easy to find our way on-the-fly, and the restaurant listings helped us to pick winners every time. The walking tours were also a great way to see the cities, especially after the museums, etc. had closed for the day. If your itinerary is going to focus mainly on the capitals and nearby excursions, the only supplements to this book that you may need are a more extensive vocabulary book and some additional info about other sights in the countries that you may not want to miss.
