5 out of 5 stars couldnot live with out this book   July 3, 2008
Milepost was invalueable for my Alaska Highway trip.
the only drawback was Williams Lake had little mention and there is a lot of lodging and dining establisments.

5 out of 5 stars Essential for Alaska Road Travel   June 11, 2008
Other reviewers were right. If you are driving to or in Alaska, you need the Milepost. Side roads and towns are included as well as major highways and road conditions. It contains EVERYTHING you can drive to, and more. It would take a a week nonstop to read the whole thing. Weather you are intersted in wildlife, views, fishing, trails, glaciers, etc, you need it. Period.

5 out of 5 stars Great Step by Step guide to Alaska   June 4, 2008
Much better then the run of the mill AAA tour guide, its got very detailed info with pictures. the Ads for camp sites, hotel, and rental places are also very helpful. its a must have for anyone going to Alaska for the first time.

5 out of 5 stars Invaluable   June 2, 2008
We just got back from driving through BC, Alaska, and parts of the Yukon. The Milepost was absolutely invaluable. It gave us so much information about what was on the road: routes, rest stops, campsites, points of interest, history and general information. Riding shotgun, I had it open on my lap most of the time. This is for a person who likes to know what they are passing on the road and for someone who appreciates details. Because it contains so much information, it can be a challenge figuring out how to use it. Take a few minutes and don't get discouraged. It will make your trip a hundred times easier.

We live in the lower 48 and have driven to Alaska four times over the past 19 years, but when we were getting ready to drive up again, we didn't hesitate at all, we purchased the "Bible" of travel to Alaska....The Milepost. We cannot even think of driving up there again without it in our truck. It is excellent. The material in this book is the best that there is. Period.
