Product Description
Witty, one-of-a-kind imaginative cupcake designs using candies from the local convenience store.

America's favorite food photography team, responsible for the covers of America's top magazines, shows how to create funny, scary, and sophisticated masterpieces, using a zipper lock bag and common candies and snack items. With these easy-to-follow techniques, even the most kitchen-challenged cooks can

• raise a big-top circus cupcake tier for a kid's birthday
• plant candy vegetables on Oreo earth cupcakes for a garden party
• trot out a line of confectionery "pupcakes" for a dog fancier
• serve sausage and pepperoni pizza cupcakes for April Fool's Day
• bewitch trick-or-treaters with chilly ghost chocolate cupcakes
• create holidays on icing with turkey cupcake place cards, a white cupcake Christmas wreath, and Easter egg cupcakes

No baking skills or fancy pastry equipment is required. Spotting the familiar items in the hundreds of brilliant photos is at least half the fun.

1 out of 5 stars Baker Beware!   August 29, 2008
This book is full of darling cupcakes, and my 10 year old daughter and I have made the sunflower cupcakes and the penguins so far. She has loved every minute of it. However, that being said, it has been a very frustrating experience every time for me. The canned frosting that the book suggests to use is way too soft, and perhaps the homemade frosting would hold up better but geez, these are already so time consuming as it is. When we put the oreos on the sunflowers they inevitably would start to slide off. Not to mention the petals which laid down flat - forget trying to do 2 rows of them. When we made the penguins, everything from the marshmallows to the wings to the beaks would slowly start to slide off, and the black frosting would drip all around the edges. My friend made the butterflies and they looked pretty good. Just be prepared to have some of your very time consuming creations not look that great.

I have just completed Wilton's course 2, and bought this book. It is FILLED with adorable ideas, especially if you have children or nieces & nephews......Whether you are a novice, or have had some teaching, you will find this book an awesome resource for supplies and inspiration. Enjoy!

This is a great book with lots of cute and fun ideas. Most of the cupcakes can be made with very little or no cake decorating experience. I am making the "spaghetti" for a cake walk and am sure it will be a great hit!
Most of the candy used is easy to come by and you can use cake mixes and canned frosting so you don't even have to be a good baker! If you have kids this would give you some fun projects to work on together.

Hello, Cupcake!: Irresistibly Playful Creations Anyone Can MakeThis book is the best! I can't wait to start baking and decorating! My grand-kids and friends are putting in their 'orders'! Directions are easy and supplies will be easy to find. You can even use cake mixes and canned icing if you don't want start from scratch. The authors give a few suggestions for enhancing the flavor and texture of cakes prepared with cake mixes. What more can you ask for!
