Terrific book! November 21, 2008 I'm not a vegan, but my son is a vegetarian who is gluten-free and intolerant to lactose and eggs. As this is a fairly new thing, I've been at my wit's end to try to figure out how to feed him healthful food that he's actually interested in eating. This book has been a gold mine!
The recipes aren't easy, per se, but they're not terribly difficult either. They do take some time, but they turn out as promised and the recipes are well written. And best of all, he likes them - and so does the rest of my family, all ardent meat-eathers.
IMO, that's the real test - everyone from a fairly picky child to adults who usually turn up their noses at anything that didn't once "moo" loves the recipes in this book. The ingredients are easy to find at a health food store or online, and I don't have to wonder what the results are going to be. Love this book!
You won't believe it tastes good! October 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's hard finding vegan dishes that taste good, so I was skeptical when I bought this book. Right off the bat I made the Chickpea salad, I didn't add the Dulse, but I did everything else, amazing!!! Next I tried the banana bread. I warned my husband that this may taste like cardboard, but to our surprise it was amazing! I couldn't keep his hands off it! This cookbook never fails to surprise me! I highly recommend this one!!!!
Great book September 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm really enjoying this cookbook. Some recipes are a bit time consuming and I haven't tried them, but everything I have tried has turned out great and very tasty. I highly recomment this book (and I have over 50 vegan/vegetarian cookbooks).

The book is great. It was as advertised and was shipped in a timely manner.
Same exact book as the Down to Earth Cookbook August 22, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just bought this, thinking that it was a new book of recipes; imagine my surprise when I read inside the book that it was the same book Lacey and Gail released a couple of years ago. As much as I love the recipes I do not require them in duplicate. The recipes are wonderful, but I am disappointed in the fact that no where in the online book description was it written that the books were the same, simply with different titles and covers.
