1 out of 5 stars Avoid: Read the Dreamweaver help files instead   December 25, 2008
After more than 10 years with Amazon and hundreds of orders this is my first review. I could not resist because this book was such a waste of time. ALL the info can be found in Dreamweaver's help menu. From my point of view the best example the author offers involves building an online image gallery with
tags and the swap function (chapter 10, page 277). But are you shown how to do this? NO. Instead you are referred back to chapter 6 and generic instructions to try an figure out on your own. Now either the author did not know the answer so could not include the instructions or held back for some other purpose. Whatever the reason, it made an already bad book horrific. STAY AWAY. This is a total waste of time.

2 out of 5 stars too generic   December 21, 2008
I wish I would not have wasted my money on this book. It is not very well put together and teaches out dated methods. Save your money and buy Dreamweaver CS3: The Missing Manual instead. That book is awesome.

5 out of 5 stars What Can I say   October 24, 2008

5 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver guide great   August 13, 2008

Having purchased Dreamweaver and being new to web design it made perfect sense to me to get a guide book to help me use it. The Dreamweaver CS3 for Dummies is very easy to use, well set out, and much more convenient than the electronic help files and tutorials that come with the software. Dreamweaver CS3 for Dummies is a great resource to turn to again and again as you learn more and more each time you go back to it.

5 out of 5 stars A very helpful transition to Dreamweaver CS3   July 2, 2008

As had another reviewer above, I had used an older version of FrontPage years ago before diving into Dreamweaver CS3 recently. I found this book very helpful. The exercises are clear and map well to what the software actually looks like. The author's web site is very helpful as well. What was most satisfying, however, was when I stubbed my toe trying to solve a problem, finding an answer neither in the book nor on the web site. I emailed the author. To my amazement and delight, she emailed back within several days with a clear solution and pointers to the section of her book that covered what I needed. Now *that" is responsiveness.
