A great resource for my holiday! March 29, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This guide states in the Intro that it's a companion to their website. Instead of printing web links (which do go bad with time), they encourage us readers to use their website, which they say state is updated daily. Cool!
I also appreciated reading comments by actual travelers and people living in the places I want to visit. Most of these were recent. A few were from years past, which I don't mind as long as they are relevant to my holiday! It also gave me a bit of confidence knowing that Utopia has obviously been around for some time.
I would have liked some simple maps to help with finding places, so that would be my suggestion for the next edition!
Interesting but... February 22, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is not really a guide book. It certainly gives infotmation about gay life and venues in the main countries of South East Asia. It's probably the first book of its kind about this part of the world. And that's already a good reason to buy it. But you must know that most of the book is made out of Internet pages prints. You get some info but also many links, most of which are incomplete. Some travellers comments included are over 2 years old. And after browsing the book, you feel like to go online to get fresh news...
