Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The long-standing Michelin Travel Guides are an ideal travel companion for travelers who really want to connect with the world. Get to know the local way of life through detailed background information on the country, people, and culture. Quickly identify the best places to visit using Michelin's star rating system. The best sites are highlighted on the sites map or you can follow a pre-planned driving tour. With the Michelin Travel Guide to Germany, listen to Germany's native son Mozart at the Berlin Philharmonic or to a concert of hand-crafted cuckoo clocks in Bavaria's Black Forest. Paint the town red in Hamburg's Reeperbahn or dip into a Munich beer cellar for Weisswurst and a pint.

Customer Reviews:
not the only guide to get April 21, 2008 This is my first experience with a Michelin Green Guide -- from the libary. Once I found the section I was looking for, it had useful information. The trouble was finding it! For example, I was looking for the Black Forest. It's not in the alphabetical listing of "Selcted SIghts" as "Black Forest". The index has one page reference which is in the front 'regions' section, and there's no mention of the German name for the region (which is how it's listed alphabetically). Looking in the index for a town I knew was in the region, I found it's page reference in the section "Schwarzwald (Black Forest)". That's what I was looking for -- success -- but not how I prefer to find my information. Frommer's and Rick Steves both organize by region which makes more sense to me.

Green guide is good for maps and color sections of book. I am not a fan of the way it is organized alphabetically instead of by region. It is also a bit heavy for carrying around in a backpack.
