We purchased this map to use during our recent trip to Krakow. We've used STREETWISE maps for our previous international trips, but they didn't have one for Krakow. We ultimately never used this map, though, and relied on the maps in the LonelyPlanet "Best of Krakow" guide and a street guide given to us by the guesthouse desk clerk.
While not sturdy as the STREETWISE maps, this map is fairly tough. However, we found two major problems with this map. First, the map unfolds to a larger spread than the STREETWISE map, making it more difficult to look at quickly while walking around. The larger problem, though, was the design--its far too busy and overloaded with info.
When I'm walking around in a new place, I need to quickly orient myself to street names. Locations of useful places are nice, but shouldn't keep me from quickly finding out where I am. This map gives too much information--its an explosion of color and names that I have to process through to get to basic street names.
This might be a useful map to use to plan out a trip to specific places. However, for me it was not useful while actually walking around and just trying to get to those places.
So, it's a good map for information, but not for actual navigation.
