Great Basic Cookbook September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this after finding recipes on a few blogs I read. It was so worth the money! I did find it an interesting read, too, but what I like best is all the very basic recipes it contained. We've made homemade "Hamburger Helper", found an easy replacement for cream of soups and "Shake n Bake", and made our own chocolate pudding. It's very empowering to discover you can make a lot of this boxed stuff yourself. Not only is it a lot healthier (and cheaper), but it tastes a LOT better, too.
Review of More-With-Less Cookbook September 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
More-With-Less Cookbook is a cookbook for those interested in healthy and frugal cooking. Most ingredients are readily available and not very expensive.
There are many recipes for breakfast, including several kinds of cereal. This cookbook is geared toward those who enjoy making items from scratch.
22 years and still our family favorite August 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This little cookbook has seen us through lean years (with frequent of savory rice loaf), raising 3 kids ("Mom, could you PLEASE make some peanut-butter popcorn when our friends come over tonight"), my husband's favorite bread recipe, our essential pancake recipe, vegetable chowder, and many more. We finally broke down and bought a new copy, but I still find myself using the old one, navigating to favorite recipes by following the spills and stains. It is our favorite wedding gift to newlyweds.
Very Flexible Cookbook July 30, 2008 I love how this cookbook is very realistic and flexible. It gives so many substitution options. You can swap ingredients for something you may have on hand, add on something if you happen to have it, or even omit ingredients if you don't have them depending on the recipe- it will let you know. The recipes are great and very cheap. I use this book literally every day and have learned SO MUCH! It's worth it!
More With Less Cookbook July 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is an excellent book with so much helpful information. It helps us focus on eating more simply with less meat. My old copy has fallen to pieces because I used it so much!
