I liked the story, and most of it was very compelling. I didn't like the ending so well, as I have many questions?
A great story if you have some time on your hands December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you got some time on your hands its a good read...I read a good chunk of it over a couple days of Jury duty. I don't think it needed to be that long, but I loved the character development of the dogs. But the ending of the book fell flat for me and I closed the book feeling disappointed.
Beware of spoilers in the reviews! December 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this book as a light read, but I caution those who are reading reviews to watch for spoilers in the reviews! I read some of the different reviews to see why opinion was so divided, and many of the reviewers give away key parts of the novel. I was extremely disappointed that so many of them ruined the key plot turns for me and really degraded the enjoyment of watching the story unfold. The book was a nice read with a story that kept me going. If you want to read it, don't read too many reviews... be your own judge.

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is the only book I have ever reread as soon as I finished it. Very moving story!
an interesting story November 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did like the story, the family is very likeable except for of course the uncle. I really am not sure though if I like the end.
